New York City’s first full-time “cat café” has opened to purrs of delight to both it’s human and furry clientele. Co-founded by Christina Ha and Emilie LeGrande, the Meow Parlour, a typical café with one exception: adorable cats and kittens roam around the guest and welcome all the petting customers are willing to offer. In fact, the hip eatery is equally catered to its feline clientele and its human guests. Seating, tables, furniture….everything was designed with the cats in mind including pillow-seats that double as cat beds, plenty of crawl and cuddle spaces, toys and, of course, ample scratching opportunities. More importantly, all featured cats up for adoption through KittyKind.
As mentioned before the Meow Parlour offers choice sweets for humans but they also feature delectable cat-friendly treats such as these cat-shaped cornmeal and rosemary sandwich cookies.

For safety reasons, both for cats and humans, all guests-feline interactions are monitored by staff. LeGrande and Ho hope to have a rotating crew of cats as some are adopted but also anticipate the wonderful benefits to cat-lovers who are unable to adopt.
