Ryan Stitt Interview: What was the Relationship like Between the Roman Empire and Ancient Greece?
In this episode Paul is joined by Ryan Stitt, host of The History of Ancient Greece Podcast (THOAG). During an extended interview, Paul discusses with Ryan the many complexities in the relationship between the great civilizations of the ancient Mediterranean world, and how they co-existed.
Though ancient Greece eventually fell within the dominion of Roman rule, Greece held a very special status in the eyes of the Roman elites. This was none more personified than during the rule of the Roman emperor Hadrian, whose dedication to Greek culture lead him to be known as the “Greekling” or “Little Greek.”
Hopewell Tradition: Exploring Ancient North America
Patrick during the first segment explores the so-called Hopewell Tradition, the collection of numerous North American tribes, many of their shared culture, and how they co-existed.
This is the first time the A.D. History Podcast ventures into North America, and examinees the numerous inhabitants, who likely migrated there ending roughly c. 11,000 years ago.
