In Belfast, North Ireland, scientist have developed an app for iPhones and iPads that help train doctors to read X-rays. The program presents doctors with a selection of X-rays. Through the app they submit their diagnoses which are then checked. The goal is to fine tune a doctor’s skills through immediate feedback that is “personalized” to work on any weaknesses demonstrated in the doctor’s responses. According to Dr. Tom Lynch, on of the app’s founders, the app is already in use by 10,000 physicians in Northern Ireland.
